  • Three tablespoons of oyster sauce (for vegetarian) or hoisin
  • Three tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 3,5 tablespoons of Chinese black vinegar/balsamic
  • One tablespoon of cornstarch
  • Three teaspoons of sugar
  • Three tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Four scallions
  • Seven cloves of garlic
  • Eight dried chilies
  • 4 cups Chinese (Napa) cabbage stems
  • 2 cups Chinese (Napa) cabbage leaves


1Chopped the Chinese cabbage stems and Chinese cabbage leaves, approximately fit with 4 cups and 2 cups. Put them together in one medium bowl. Set aside, then roughly chopped the garlic. After that, slice the scallions into 1” pieces and slice dried chilies. Keep each of them in a small bowl.

2In a bowl, whisk the cornstarch with the three tablespoons of water. Whisk it until there’s no blob of flour because it will bother another liquid later when it poured the cabbage. Whisk also the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and balsamic vinegar.
