How to make The Best Swedish Meatballs
To make this Swedish meatball is not difficult because you only need meat and other spices to make this dish. Let’s take a look at the following recipes to find out how to make it.
- Two tablespoons of olive oil
- One onion, diced
- 450 gr ground beef
- 450 gr ground pork
- 100 gr Panko breadcrumbs
- Two egg yolks
- A quarter teaspoon of ground allspice
- A quarter teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- Salt and ground black pepper
- 1/4 small glasses butter (unsalted)
- 60 gr of flour (all-purpose)
- Four small glasses of beef broth
- 120 gr of sour cream
- 30 gr chopped parsley
1Prepare a large skillet and heat with a tablespoon of olive oil in it over medium heat. Put the diced onions to the skillet. Cook while stirring around 2 to 3 minutes until the onions get translucent. Prepare a large bowl to combine the meat ingredients along with the egg yolks, nutmeg, allspice and Panko. Don’t forget to add pepper and salt as the seasoning.
2Stir the mixture until it is completely combined with a wooden spoon or you may also use your hands (clean). Shape the mixture to make a meatball around 1 1/2 g and create around 24 meatballs. In the skillet, you need to add the remaining olive oil. After that, put the meatballs to cook for around 5 minutes until all parts get browned. Then, line a plate with paper towels to transfer the meatballs in it.
3Add the meatballs, in batches, and cook until all sides are browned about 4-5 minutes. Transfer to plates of paper towels. To make gravy, simply melt the butter in a frying pan. Beat in the flour for around a minute until it gets slightly browned. Also, stir in the beef broth and continue to cook.
4Keep stirring for around 1 to 2 minutes until it gets lightly thickened. Also add the sour cream along with the seasoning, salt, and pepper into the pan. Add the meatballs, occasionally stirring, until heated and thickened, approximately 10 minutes. Top with parsley to garnish and enjoy!
