How to cook Shrimp with Hot Garlic Sauce

To cook this dish, the ingredients needed are simple, and they are also easy to make. In only 25 minutes, you can cook a seafood dish that is combined with flavors hot garlic sauce. Just follow the instructions below for a whole recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp with no tails
  • A half onion, sliced thin
  • A half red pepper, sliced thin
  • 100 gr sugar snap peas
  • A large peeled carrot, cut into matchstick
  • A can of water chestnuts
  • 45 gr minced garlic
  • A tablespoon grated or minced ginger
  • 200 ml chicken stock
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 25 gr cornstarch
  • 15 ml rice wine vinegar
  • 45 gr brown sugar
  • 15 gr red pepper flakes
  • 45 ml vegetable oil
  • green onions

Directions:

1To start, you need to prepare a medium bowl. Then, fill it with ingredients like chicken stock, cornstarch, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and red pepper flakes. Whisk these ingredients and make sure that all of the ingredients are completely combined.

2Next, take a large cast iron skillet, or you may use a heavy bottom pan and turn the heat over medium-high. Put the oil and shrimp in it. Cook for around 2 minutes for each side of the shrimp. After all, sides are cooked, you may remove the shrimp from the skillet and set the shrimp aside for a while.

3In the same skillet, put another oil and other ingredients like carrots, onions, red peppers and snap peas. Cook them for around 3-4 minutes until all of the ingredients turn soft. Here, also add water chestnuts and garlic and then don’t forget to cook for another minute.

4Go back to the sauce. Before you pour this into the vegetable mixture, whisk it for a while to make sure that the cornstarch is also evenly mixed. Then, add this to the mixture. Next, lower the heat and add the shrimp in it. Cook and stir for a minute until the mixture thickens.
