Lasagna never fails. It tastes great as it is. However, the combination of shrimp and crab meat adds the savory taste, while it is also creamy and cheesy. It’s mouthwatering!
How to Make Seafood Lasagna
Don’t add the crab meat when you still need to stir as it crumbles too easily, and be generous on cheese and sauce for perfect result.
- 16 oz of crab lump meat
- 1 lb of shrimp, remove tail, skinned and deveined
- 1 lb of lasagna noodle
- 1½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 whole egg
- 16 oz of canned ricotta
- 2 tablespoon of chopped parsley
- ¾ cup of grated Parmesan
- ½ cup of clam juice
- 2½ cup of half-and-half
- ¼ cup of all purposes flour
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1 teaspoon of chopped thyme leaves
- 3 cloves of garlic, mince
- A half lemon, use the juice
- Black pepper. Freshly ground
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Cooking spray
- More chopped parsley for garnish, optional
1Preheat the oven to 350°F and season the shrimp with pepper and salt, set aside. Take a large pot and boil water to cook the lasagna noodle as instructed on the package. Meanwhile, prepare a baking sheet and grease it or line it if desired. Set aside. Drain the noodle when it is cooked, and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Add parchment paper between layer when you stack it. Set aside.
2Now take a skillet, and heat the oil. When the oil is hot enough, toss the shrimp and cook until each side is opaque and pink. This should take around two minutes for each side. When you are done, transfer the shrimp to a cutting board, and cut them into bite sized pieces. Set aside.
3Next, add butter into the skillet and melt it over medium heat. Add thyme and garlic and stir until they turn fragrant. Now, add the flour and stir immediately. Whisk in the clam juice and half-and-half, stir until well mixed. Cook this mixture until it simmers. Make sure to stir it occasionally until the mixture gets thick. Add ½ cup of parmesan, and season with pepper and salt. Set aside.
4Take a small mixing bowl, and add together pepper, salt, parsley, ¼ cup of parmesan, egg, and ricotta. Mix them well. Now take a greased baking sheet, and spread the sauce on it, thin layer. Add the noodles and overlapping is fine. Add the ricotta mixture, crab meat, and shrimp, and cover it with the sauce. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella. Repeat until the last layer and cover with mozzarella again.
5Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake it for around a half hour. Then, remove the foil and transfer back the baking sheet into the oven. Bake again for another 15 minutes or until it turns golden and the cheese melts perfectly. Take it out and cool it. Cut and serve.
Serve it for dinner and it can’t go wrong with any desert or condiment. It pleases the crowd and you need to make many of it.
