As the king of antioxidants, blueberries are also perfect for your baby’s growth. Here, we also use nutmeg which has a role as compliment ingredient. The nutmeg doesn’t only used to generalize the flavor of the carrots but also has some benefits for your baby which one of them is to maintain the health of baby’s digestive tract.

How to make Purple Carrot + Blueberries + Nutmeg Puree

Only in less than 30 minutes, you can make your own purple carrot + blueberries + nutmeg puree that you can serve to your toddlers as one of the healthy meals. If you never try this before, then this is the right time for you to follow this recipe until the very end.

Ingredients:

  • Four large sized of purple carrots
  • 100 gr of blueberries
  • A pinch of nutmeg

Directions:

1Firstly, you need to peel the skin the carrots and chop them up. Then, prepare a medium saucepan filled with 2 inches of water. Turn the stove over medium heat and bring the water to boil. Next, prepare a steamer basket and add the carrots in it.

2Cook the carrots in the steamer basket for about 10 minutes. After that, put the blueberries to the cooked carrots and cook again for another 5 minutes. Next, let the carrots and blueberries cool for a while and keep the steamer water to make the puree.

3Here, you need to prepare a blender or a food processor. Then, put the carrots, blueberries, and nutmeg in it. Puree until smooth, and you may add the reserved water that you’ve been keeping before along with the breast milk or formula milk.

After following all the steps above, the purple carrots + blueberries + nutmeg puree is ready to serve. Fortunately, you can choose many different ways to give the best serving puree to your baby. You may mix this puree with steamed spinach or a bit of Greek yogurt. Besides, to get extra protein, you can add a spoon of cooked quinoa.
