How to Make Mapo Tofu

To make Mapo tofu will not take much time, it is suitable for you if you are busy with your job or business. Let’s how to make it a glimpse. Make water starch and fry minced beef. Then, fry the ingredients and add water. Last, add tofu and water starch.

Ingredients:

  • 450g silken tofu
  • 100g minced pork (you may use beef)
  • A half tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 ½ tbsp Doubanjiang
  • ½ tbsp fermented black beans
  • 1 tbsp pepper powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ tbsp Sichuan pepper
  • A tbsp light soy sauce
  • Water
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 scallions white
  • 4 scallion greens
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 5 ginger slices, mince
  • A teaspoon sugars

Water starch

  • 2 ½ tbsp water
  • A tbsp corn-starch

Directions:

1First, make corn-starch water by mixing 1 tbsp corn-starch and 2 ½ tbsp water. Stir well and save. Then, mix minced pork with sesame oil and salt, mixed well and save to use on the next step. And then, cut square cube tofu and boil by adding salt. Boil for one minute and drain. Use the same wok to fry minced beef until crisp. After that, move out and drain.

2Heat up boil to fry doubanjiang, then put black beans, ginger, scallion white and garlic and fry for one minute. Add water and put tofu, stir gently. Then add soy sauce, beef and pour water starch. Simmer for five minutes and serve.

Mapo Tofu can be your dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Even it can be your special dish to eat with someone special. Besides that, you can cook Mapo tofu to a guest who comes to your home. Although the preparation and cooking time need quite long time at least the guest interest to taste your cuisine.
