How to make Gingerbread Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting
To make 20 bars of Gingerbread Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting at home, you just need to spend around one hour and 30 minutes in your kitchen until the yummy bars are ready to serve.
For the Bars:
- 300 gr + 30 gr flour
- One and a half teaspoons of grounded ginger
- A teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- A quarter teaspoon of ground nutmeg and ground cloves
- A teaspoon of baking soda
- 169g unsalted butter, cut into cubes, melt and cool it for a while
- 220g packed sugar (light brown)
- 60ml molasses
- One large egg
- Two teaspoons of vanilla extract
For the Frosting:
- 100 gr butter
- A package of cream cheese
- 325 gr powdered sugar
- A half teaspoon of vanilla extract
1First, you need to heat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit-degree or 180 celsius-degree. While waiting, you may use the time to prepare for the baking dish. Here, you need to prepare the one for 13×9 inch baking dish that has been sprayed by the cooking spray.
2Set the baking dish aside and prepare a medium mixing bowl to whisk some ingredients in it, like flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, salt and baking soda. Mix these ingredients for around 20 seconds until they are completely combined. After that, you may set it aside and prepare for the following step below.
3Prepare a bowl equipped with an electric stand mixer and paddle attachment in it. Blend some ingredients like brown sugar, molasses, egg, vanilla extract, and flour. After that, you may simply pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread them evenly and press the layer with your hands.
4Now, you need to bake the mixture into the oven for around 14 to 17 minutes until the bar is completely cooked but not overcooked. Next, prepare a wire rack and place the cooked bar on it. Here, you need to give some minutes to allow the bar to get cool.
5To make the cream cheese frosting, prepare a bowl with the electric stand mixer along with the paddle attachment. Then, combine the cream cheese and butter in it along with the powdered sugar and the vanilla extract into the mixture until they turn fluffy. You may freeze the frosting and re-mix it to reach the desired consistency.
To serve, you need to spread the frosting that you have made before on top of the cool bar. Then, cut the bar into several small bars. After that, you may place the bars into the refrigerator to cool. Also, don’t forget to cover with the plastic wrap before.
