The mahi mahi fillet here tastes perfect, savory and delicious while it is also tender and soft. It gets enough spiciness and fresh touch of the lemon, while it also crunchy and sweet at the same time.

How to Make Garlicky Lemon Mahi Mahi

This fish has the right texture for pan fried or grilled, so making this recipe should be simple. The lemon puts some balance on the taste, and don’t over cook the asparagus to get it crispy still while serving.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of Mahi Mahi fillet
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lemon, use the juice and zest
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb of asparagus
  • Black pepper, freshly ground
  • Kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil, divide
  • 3 tablespoons of butter, divide
  • Lemon slices or wedges for garnish, optional
  • Parsley leaves for garnish, optional

Directions

1Prepare a large skillet, and add olive oil and butter in it, a tablespoon each. Heat them over medium heat. Cook until the butter is melted. Then, add in the mahi mahi fillet and season with pepper and salt. Cook until the color changes to golden, then flip to cook the other side. Cook each side for around four minutes. Then, transfer the fillet to a plate, and set aside.

2Into the same skillet, add a tablespoon of olive oil and add the asparagus. Season with pepper and salt generously, and cook until it turns tender. It should take around four minutes to cook the asparagus, then transfer to a plate, and set aside.

3With the skillet is empty now, add the remaining two tablespoons of butter, and heat it until it melts. When the butter is melted, add together red pepper flakes and garlic. Stir to cook them. When the garlic starts to fragrant, add together the lemon juice and zest, and add parsley leaves.

4Stir everything to mix it well, then transfer back the fillet and asparagus into the skillet. Turn of the heat, and stir to combine all well. Next, get ready to serve. Prepare your serving plate, and add a piece of fillet on each plate with asparagus. Garnish with lemon slices or wedges and more parsley leaves if desired.

While it is totally delicious to serve it this way, it is also great to serve it with rice as condiment. It is easy to make when you want a classy dinner menu.
