Fried ice cream will be a perfect dessert or snack. You will get the soft sweet cool ice cream but also the warm, fried batter.

How to Make Fried Ice Cream

The process is not that difficult. It is easy to follow this recipe, and you can get perfect fried ice cream in no time. It is an advantage if you have a deep fryer, but a pot or a saucepan will also do well. Let’s batter up your ice cream.

Ingredients:

  • Three egg, whites only
  • One quart of vanilla ice cream, or any flavour you like
  • Three cups of cornflakes cereal crushed them
  • One teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Oil for frying (adjust it with your need)

Directions:

1Scoop the ice cream into ½ cup sized balls. You can use the ice cream scoop or spoon if you want to. Transfer the ice cream balls into a flat container such as baking sheet, then freeze it so you can get the firm ball shape.

2Get a bowl to mix the cornflakes and the cinnamon, set it aside. Then, in another bowl, beat the egg whites until you get the foamy texture. Take the ice cream balls from the freezer and roll it in the egg whites, then in the cornflakes. Make sure that the surface of the ice cream is well covered. If the ice cream ball has not well covered, you can repeat the process. You should be fast so your ice cream won’t melt. Then, put them back in the freezer for three hours so it will be completely frozen.

3Heat the oil in your pot, saucepan, or deep fryer to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F. Then fry the ice cream one by one by using shallow spoon or basket. You can fry two at a time if you can handle it well. Just fry it for around 10 to 15 seconds. Make sure that your ice cream will not melt, but you get the golden colour on the batter. Drain it quickly using a paper towel and serve it.
