How to make Easy Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs
To enjoy this dish, you need to brush it with the barbecue sauce or simply use the sauce as the dipping.
- 4 pounds of baby pork ribs
Spice rub ingredients:
- One and a half tablespoons paprika
- One and a half tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
- 15 gr salt
- 15 gr chili powder
- 15 gr garlic powder
- A teaspoon of chipotle pepper (grounded)
- A teaspoon of black pepper
- A teaspoon of onion powder
- A half teaspoon of dried thyme
- A quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Barbecue sauce ingredients:
- 400 ml ketchup
- 100 ml molasses
- 100 gr brown sugar (packed)
- 50 gr blackberry preserves (no seeds)
- 65 ml vinegar (apple vinegar)
- A tablespoon of Spice Rub
- A tablespoon of liquid smoke
1First of all, you need to heat the oven over 400 Fahrenheit-degree. While waiting for the oven to reach the heat, you can use the time to prepare for the next step. To continue, you may prepare a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. After that, set it aside for a while.
2Now, you need to cut the pork ribs into six parts. Next, clean the ribs under the running water. When it is done, don’t forget to rinse and dry the ribs with paper towels. After that, you can continue to make the spice rub by simply preparing a medium mixing bowl and do the following steps below.
3Combine the spice rub ingredients in the mixing bowl. After they are completely mixed, you need to reserve a spoon of the spice rub mixture to make the barbecue sauce. Meanwhile, the rest of the spice rub mixture will be used to coat the ribs. Then, place them on top of the prepared baking sheet.
4Put the baking sheet and bake for around 15 minutes for each side. Thus, you will need around 30 minutes for both sides of the ribs to get completely seared. Next, prepare a medium saucepan and put all of the barbecue sauce in it. Stir and cook them gently for around 14 minutes. Take around one and a half cups to refrigerate.
Prepare the slow cooker and spray with the cooking spray along with the barbecue sauce (in a thin layer). Also, put the ribs in it and make sure they are completely coated with the barbecue sauce. Place the lid on and cook for around 9 hours over low heat. Don’t forget to rotate the ribs while cooking to get evenly cooked.
