How to make Blackened Shrimp Pasta

You only need around 30 minutes to make this authentic and delicious homemade Blackened Shrimp Pasta.

Ingredients:

For the blackening seasoning:

  • A tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • A teaspoon of thyme
  • A teaspoon of oregano
  • A half teaspoon of cumin
  • A quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • A quarter teaspoon of garlic powder
  • A quarter teaspoon of onion powder
  • A quarter teaspoon of salt
  • Cracked pepper
  • For the shrimp pasta:
  • 225 gr shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 30 gr butter
  • Two cloves of garlic
  • A can of petite diced tomatoes
  • A quarter teaspoon of salt
  • 225 gr pasta
  • Three pieces of green onions, cut into slices
  • Parsley
  • A lemon

Instructions

1First, you need to prepare a small bowl to combine all ingredients of blackening seasoning in it. When it is done, prepare the shrimp by cleaning it with the cool water and drain with a paper towel. Next, add the blackening seasoning on top of the shrimp and make sure they are all fully coated with the seasoning.

2Second, prepare a large pot filled with boiled water. Then, when it is boiling, cook the pasta in it for around 7 to 10 minutes until the pasta becomes well cooked and tender. Also, don’t forget to keep a cup of pasta reserved water and drain the pasta well in a colander.

3While cooking the pasta, you may prepare for other ingredients too, like heat a large skillet with butter and minced garlic on it over medium-high. When the butter starts to foam, you may add the garlic and sauté for around a minute until you can smell the fragrance.

4Next, you need to add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for around 3 to 5 minutes until they turn opaque. Then, you may transfer the shrimp to a plate. Still using the same skillet, add the tomatoes as well as the pasta water in it. Cook these ingredients over medium heat for several minutes.

5Bring the sauce to simmer for around 5 to 10 minutes until the texture gets slightly thickened. Then, don’t forget to taste the sauce with salt. To continue, you need to add the cooked pasta to it. Make sure all part of the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. Also, bring back the shrimp to the skillet to combine.
