How to make a delicious posole

- Two tablespoons of flour
- Two tablespoons of vegetable oil or canola oil
- Two tablespoons of chili powder
- One small yellow onion
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of cumin
- 2 cups of water
- ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 3 oz of tomato paste
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 15 oz of hominy
- 1 ½ cup of pork
- 4 oz of green chili, chopped
- ½ one fresh lime
- ½ bunch of fresh cilantro
1Prepare the large soup pot, add the vegetable or canola oil. Then, dice the small yellow onion. Stir fry the onion on medium-over heat for about 3-5 minutes until it’s transparent and tender. Add the flour and chili powder. Continue stir-fry the onion, flour and chili powder.
2Mix them until reasonably dry. Stir well for about 2 minutes to prevent burning. Add the water, cumin, tomato paste, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix them until simmer. Add the chicken broth and pork scar, hominy, and chopped green chili. Stir to combine them for about 10 minutes.
3Then, remove from the pot. Place into a bowl, then add the slice of fresh lime and the chopped fresh cilantro on top. Your delicious posole is ready to enjoy. You can add other topping such as avocado, sour cream, tortilla chips, fresh salsa, cheese or radishes.
